It is cool to be able to see how far they got and which paths they chose to go. I even learned a few shortcuts and tricks with the whip just watching them!
But there’s already a great foundation here – a stellar sense of movement and moment-to-moment gameplay worth getting excited about. We look forward to seeing how the game will continue to develop and further encourage long-term spelunking.
I first bought Phantom Abyss when it launched in early access, and I was hooked by the premise. You quickly run through procedurally generated temples, jump and dodge traps, use a whip to propel yourself to platforms, collect currency, and upgrade as you try to make it to the end before dying completely or a big scary idol catches up to you.
Now the game forces you to take damage, forces you into traps, and worst of all the entire game feels lonely. No more are there ghosts that die in silly ways, now you have to just hope that one of the million rng maps have a ghost on it.

While the ability gives you some pretty good mid-air horizontal movement, it is outclassed by most other movement options. Not a useless ability, but it doesn't have much utility either.
As we open chests, we will get money and keys, both of which can be used to upgrade. The money we get can give us different upgrades that will last until we die, while the keys can be used to buy upgrades that will last throughout every temple you enter.
